"PAPAYA RINGSPOT'

Papaya ringspot is a deases of papaya  cause by papaya ringspot virus. is no name because of the development of green concentric ringspot on the surface of infected fruits.other symptoms also develop on other plant parts,particularly in the leaves,petiole and stem.
In general,this deseas is characterize by yelowing mosaic and deformation or distortion of leaves,preciuse oily steaks on the stem and petiole,stanting on the plant,fruit sterility,and most important the development of concentric  ringspot on the fruit surface.the oncet symptom apirance varies from 9 to 39 days in the labolatory and about 56day after transplanting in the field.in most cases mosaic and yelowing apear firsth but oily streaks and ringspot proved to be better indication on the deases.
SYMPTOMS OF PAPAYA RINGSPOT.
In leaves infected young leave firsth show vein clearing,mosaic and clorosis or yelowing.its infection progreses,leaf deformation or extrem narowing or elongation of leave with portion resembling,shoestring,and fuckering and defoliation occur,until only a bunch  of leaves remaines at the crown.
STEM/TRUNK AND PETIOLE.stem and petiole develop dark green,elongated water soaked or oily  streakes,petiole are abnormaly  shortened and whole plant is stunted.
In the fruit,young infected fruit initialy develop small,dark concentric ring,or green spot,other symptoms include dark green,irregolaritie on the fruit surface,decrease in size and eventualy loss of fruit or sterility.
if papaya is infected with papaya ringspot virus whole still young,economic yield is imposible,the virus is transmited mechanicaly when sap from infected plant comes in contact with healthy plant.this is posible through improper farm tools previusly on infected trees and use subsiquently  on healthy ones.
papaya is harvested if the comodity is physiologicaly mature.if the papaya is physiologicaly mature is contineuing to yhere rifining,but if this is harvested on non physiologicaly mature the comodity canot ripe and become to deteriorate
